Adrienne Sorenson - San Joaquin Delta College CCCSCA Nor Cal Women's Coach of the Year

Sorenson is a California Community College product of Sierra College in Rocklin where she was team captain and helped lead the team to a Big 8 Conference title in 2005. The Sacramento native transferred to Cal State Stanislaus and played for head coach Gabriel Bolton where she was a two year starter and lead the team in points in her senior campaign. After graduating from Stan State with a BA in Kinesiology, Sorenson was hired as Bolton's top assistant and spent the next year under his mentorship.

Sorenson was named Head Coach at San Joaquin Delta College in 2010 and at age 22 was the youngest active collegiate head coach in the country. She has spent the next years rebuilding the Delta College program and the Mustangs have now made the playoffs in the last five consecutive seasons. In 2012 the program took major steps forward finishing 13-5-4 and 3rd in the Big 8 Conference. The 2015 season was the best season in program history with the Mustangs posting a 15-4-3 record and setting new records for wins in a season (15), consecutive wins (10), unbeaten streak (12 match), shut outs (15), best Big 8 Conference record (8-3-3), highest Big 8 conference finish (3rd), goals against (13) and GAA.

Sorenson's number one priority is helping her athletes reach their goals both on and off the field. Since she began in 2010, 93% of her sophomores have transferred to 4-year Universities and many are currently on athletic scholarships.

Sorenson is married to husband Lance and has two sons Cooper (3) and Cal (1).
